Hi Kate This will depend upon what version of Access database you are using. If you have an older Access/Office version, you may need to install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016. With Office 365 you cannot Open Table as a mdb/accdb directly but you can Open your Access table with ODBC. The ...

I have been through Precisely Support about this and received the following response: The MapInfo Product Development team has engaged directly with Microsoft and confirmed that there is currently no comprehensive replacement available for the legacy Microsoft Access Database Engine driver, which is ...

It took us a while to realise that the >Support MZ was ticked on by default and was stopping us saving a table as an older version Always check this is not ticked ------------------------------ John Ievers CDR Group Limited Hope Valley, United Kingdom ------------------------------

I am puzzled why the option for the MS Access driver is for an old and unsupported version (2016). Surely we need MapInfo to run on supported versions? ------------------------------ John Ievers CDR Group Limited Hope Valley, United Kingdom ------------------------------

I certainly favour the Drivetime isochrones for humans in vehicles (not everything is). Depending upon the number of sites and zones created, this could take you close to the 2,000 free credits per month limit!! ------------------------------ John Ievers CDR Group Limited Hope Valley, United Kingdom ...

When saving a table back to the classic 32-bit *.tab format, make sure the >Support MZ button is unchecked. If it is checked, then the result will be a 64-bit Extended *.tab format - which you probably don't want. You will receive a message that you need MapInfo v15.2, when you try to open it in v15.0 ...

Hi Dale My guess would be anti-virus rules. Viruses tend to create new files - so it can be a basic rule to block unknown files being generated. The same goes for editing, where you may need to allow files with the extension .tin .tda and .tma Regards ------------------------------ John Ievers ...

Hi Peter What is the current version of DrawTools? The MarketPlace indicates 2.0.3.0 and last published Dec 12,2018 - which I suspect is incorrect. ------------------------------ John Ievers CDR Group Limited Hope Valley, United Kingdom ------------------------------

Hi Giselle I'm not sure what you mean here. My Explorer window is "Docked" on the left - you could dock it on the right if you want. And what are the double arrows that you mention? ------------------------------ John Ievers CDR Group Limited Hope Valley, United Kingdom ----------------------- ...

Hi Matt I like the article and remember reading it at the time. We tend to use Geocoding for any geographic object - not just addresses. Addresses usually relate to postal addresses and the location is in respect to delivering post and packages. Not all buildings have a postal address (e.g. churches) ...

Recently, I came across a fine example of why you should not be lazy in designing your database structure. A popular dataset in the UK, containing 1.7 million point records is now available in GeoPackage format. I downloaded and saved it as a MapInfo table but a little shocked that the data file came ...

Thanks Peter Operating in the UK, I nearly always use British National Grid (BNG) with Ordnance Survey mapping - so that is always Cartesian and set my Options/Defaults to BNG and 1mm Accuracy Projection. Yesterday, I thought I was using data in BNG until I tried to update a column with the CartesianArea. ...

Hi Finlay MapInfo always strongly supports backward compatibility with old table formats. Not sure what you mean about "customised styles" - you have more options now. The article that you refer to highlights the issue of mixing 32-bit and 64-bit applications with Microsoft and MS Office. Best option ...

Hi Tom I have offered my feedback to w3w along these lines too. It has already gained significant public adoption and the mobile phone app is still free to use. Delivery companies have started to adopt the system and all the emergency services in the UK are using it. ------------------------------ ...
