We are happy to announce that MapInfo Pro v23.2 is to be released on November 19th.

We will be releasing the English version of MapInfo Pro v23.2 now, and we plan to release all languages of MapInfo Pro in Q1 of 2026. The installer for v23.2 includes all languages for you to choose from. The new features have not yet been translated, so they will be in English only.

The focus of this release has been on integrating MapInfo Pro with the Precisely Data Integrity Suite - a modular SaaS Solution helping organizations to build trust in their business decisions.

MapInfo Pro users can now sign in to the Data Integrity Suite, allowing you to access our Precisely data catalog in a completely new way. Instead of purchasing, downloading, and storing a complete country-wide dataset, you can now connect to the Data Integrity Suite and access exactly the up-to-date data you need for your project, just when you need it.

Easily build queries using several new Spatial Services, including Search Nearby, Search at Location, Overlap, and Summarize. Some examples could be: get buildings intersecting a polygon trade area in your Map view, find all the parcels within a given distance of an address of interest, or find out what proportion of a parcel is within a high-risk flood zone. You can also access the Precisely Data as mapping or tile service layers.

We have also built support for the Data Graph API, which allows you to query linked datasets using their relationships, such as the addresses, buildings, and properties. You can include other Precisely data, too.

This release includes access to dozens of different Precisely datasets in the US and Canada. Many more datasets and geographies are coming soon and will also be available through MapInfo Pro.

This new release of MapInfo Pro also includes several fixes reported by our users via the Precisely Support team. In addition, we have made updates to improve security for the MapInfo License Server Utility used with distributed and node concurrent licenses, and have included Bing Maps access for 2026.
You can find more details in the release notes.
MapInfo Pro can now be downloaded from the Precisely Data Experience, or PDX as we tend to call it. To be able to access the PDX, you need an account. Most customers already have an account -  the same account that you are using to access the Precisely Knowledge Community and the Precisely Support Forum. If you don't have an account, you can create one from the PDX. Contact our support team at Precisely Support if you have questions.
Over the coming weeks, you can find articles here in the MapInfo Pro community with more details on the MapInfo Pro v23.2 release.

I am puzzled why the option for the MS Access driver is for an old and unsupported version (2016).

Surely we need MapInfo to run on supported versions?

I have been through Precisely Support about this and received the following response:

The MapInfo Product Development team has engaged directly with Microsoft and confirmed that there is currently no comprehensive replacement available for the legacy Microsoft Access Database Engine driver, which is now unsupported.

Based on internal testing, installing the Microsoft Access Database Engine 365 driver enables MapInfo Pro to successfully open Excel files. However, this driver does not support opening Microsoft Access database files.

So does that mean we will not be able to work on MSAccess tables in Mapinfo? I depend on this functionality. When is it likely to stop working?

    Hi Kate

This will depend upon what version of Access database you are using. If you have an older Access/Office version, you may need to install the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016. With Office 365 you cannot Open Table as a mdb/accdb directly but you can Open your Access table with ODBC. The MapInfo team are working on fully integrating Office 365 Access support.

    Kate,

We haven't removed any functionality. But we have made the MS Office Driver (Microsoft Access Database Engine 2016) optional during installation. This means that you need to actively select to install this.

We did this because Microsoft has ended support for this. And they haven't published a one-for-one replacement that we could use instead.

As John wrote, one option is to use the Microsoft Access Runtime, at least for ODBC support.
