    returning to Mapinfo.   Need to style polygons differently in the same layer.  In QGIS done through classification category.  How is it done in Mapinfo please?

    In MapInfo it is called Thematic Mapping. From the Map Ribbon >Add Theme.

    Points, lines or polygons and you can perform data joins to use external variables - if needs be. A three-step wizard takes you through the process.
