  • 1.  Upgrading to Winshuttle version 20.2

    Hi Everybody – Hope you are all well.  Has anyone out there upgraded to Winshuttle version 20.2?  We are planning to upgrade from version 12.1 to 20.2 in the near future and wondered if anyone could provide any tips and/or pain points.

                                In addition, feedback to the below questions would be greatly appreciated:

    1. How long did the upgrade take.
    2. Was it necessary to recreate existing Winshuttle scripts from previous version or were you able to simply "Save As" in new Winshuttle version?
    3. Does Winshuttle version 20.0 work with SAP GUI's below 7.70 ?

    Emma,
    we had no issues whatsoever when we upgraded Studio from 12.1 to 20.2.8 (SAP GUI 7.60).
    Not a single script errored, no need to "save as",  we could just run all existing scripts with 20.2.8 as we did in the previous version.
    Upgrading did not take long at all.

    We upgrade from 12.1 to 20.1 and after that we already upgraded to 20.2.8 and now we are on 20.2.9 (the newest version).
    I would advise you to first uninstall the earlier version and then install the new version.
    Also install the latest WFM for you SAP environment.

    Hi @Emma Norihiro
    Hope the upgrade (or planning) is going well! You got some responses from other users here, which is great.
    You need 20.2 or higher to work with SAPGUI 770​, there is no need to "Save As" - the scripts should all work without changes.
    Do make sure that the WFM on the SAP server is also upgraded to the same release to get all the benefits. 

    If you run into issues, please create a Support ticket.
