Hi Jayasri
One way we have done this type of cleaning in the past was to develop two Winshuttles:
- One Winshuttle to download the data from SAP to Excel [we call these "Report Winshuttles"]
- A second Winshuttle to upload the changes from Excel to SAP.
- If you know the vendors that need contacts refreshed, provide a vendor list to the download Winshuttle.
- Use the Excel function to remove exact duplicates.
- Use the upload program to blank out all contacts.
- Use the upload program to load the refreshed data.
If you have the data owner SME's [data steward's] doing the cleansing in Excel, you can break up a large clean up into bite-sized pieces [250 records per SME per day/week]. As you get the cleansed work packages back from the SME's, you clear out the old contacts, and load the refreshed contacts. Your data cleanse becomes more of a project management task, but it get the job done and the people who "know" the data approve each batch. Any SAP screen that does not position well, this method work on, just don't make the work packages too big for the SME's.
Geed luck,
