Very happy to report that this is now resolved. David Cheves of Precisely Technical Support replicated this problem using a copy of my xml file. He supplied me with a replica he had made in his copy of MapInfo 2023.1, which is not deleted on start-up. I'm very grateful to David for his help. ...

Eh up Peter. I do have a backup (several!), but since the xml state file is deleted as MapInfo Pro starts up, it never gets to load. Hence my interest in a possible MapBasic method. Is there a way of forcing the reading of a restored state file by MapInfo whilst it is running? Or perhaps changing ...

Hello yet again. I'm rather sad to have to further report that the disappearing QAT behaviour has returned. I may well have to contact Precisely Technical Support, as Peter suggested. In the meantime, is it possible to use a MapBasic script to rebuild the QAT automatically, rather than have to rebuild ...

Hello again. I'm happy to report that ICT colleagues have now resolved this problem by removing older versions of MapInfo Pro and then uninstalling and reinstalling 2023. The QAT is now stable and I'm back being productive! . Best wishes David ------------------------------ David Squires Definitive ...

Thanks Peter! I usually work remotely, but I'm in Nottingham until tomorrow lunchtime and asked our ICT people to uninstall 2023. I then reinstalled it. I opened MapInfo, saved the QAT, closed the program and, with a Windows Explorer window open in %appdata%, launched it. And again watched the xml ...

I'll mull it over this weekend. Perhaps a reinstallation might clear the error? Thanks again. ------------------------------ David Squires Knowledge Community Shared Account ------------------------------

Thanks for your reply, Peter. The only difference between your Application Preferences dialogue and mine was that my Ribbon Tab Switching was set to Auto. I selected None, then saved the current state of the ribbon, and noted that the xml appeared in the folder. I then shut down MapInfo and opened ...

Recently I began to find that my Quick Access Toolbar is missing when I open MapInfo Pro (2023, build 97). I'd previously had occasional problems with the QAT (in versions 2019 & 2021), which were resolved after a search on the Precisely Knowledge Communities site. MapInfo 2021 Custom quick access ...

Hi there I have been trying to set this up today, but despite all template files and folders being in the specified network folder and my local copies removed, the shared section, as shown in the image above and which should contain the layouts, does not appear. Other than the Directory Preferences ...
