That's a neat trick James! I thought it would have complained about 'not being able to update a view' or similar. ------------------------------ Timothy Mashford Melbourne, Australia ------------------------------

Hi Matthew, I faced the same issue a few months ago (also using Melway!) Check the discussion below for the solution. https://community.pitneybowes.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?MessageKey=00feea76-52fe-4f35-86ed-f1ee3f0429f5&CommunityKey=fe4d1ee2-f1c6-4307-87d2-00bea1 ...

I remember an issue was raised several years ago regarding the map window displaying one zoom level, and the map frame (in the old Layout) displaying a different zoom level. This was due to the different scales, i.e. the display scale on the screen vs the print scale on the paper. It would be good ...

Thanks Anshul & Bob. Any indication when v2019.1 might be made available? Mid year, end of the year...? ------------------------------ Timothy Mashford Melbourne, Australia ------------------------------

I'm having trouble removing an item from the MapperShortcut menu in MapInfo Pro v2019. For example, suppose I add a right-click shortcut for the Clear Selection function: Alter Menu "MapperShortcut" Add "Clear Selection" ID 1234 Calling 304 This works, but how can I remove it? I've tried things ...

Thanks Sam, one MRD file per image is fine, I see that the .TAB file points to this. One more question though, whilst I don't want pure white pixels to be transparent, I do sometimes want magenta pixels to be transparent. The option to do this under Adjust Image Styles does not seem to be applied ...

Thanks Sam, yes that appears to work. I'll create an XML/MRD for each TIFF image. Thanks also to Anshul and Andrei for your assistance. Regards, Tim ------------------------------ Timothy Mashford Melbourne, Australia ------------------------------

Yep, it looks like my installation corrupted somehow, so the raster options aren't there. I'm reinstalling now, and will try that trick thanks Andrei. One more question, would there be a way of setting this option for many users? Is this stored in a preference file or something? ----------- ...

Hi Andrei, Am I supposed to see Raster Preferences under the Pro tab? Because I can't.... I also can't see a Raster tab in the ribbon. Does this mean maybe I missed something with the installation? Tim ------------------------------ Timothy Mashford Melbourne, Australia -------------- ...

I'm trying to open 8 bit GeoTIFF images in MapInfo Pro v2019. It seems to automatically be making white pixels transparent? I've tried setting no transparent colour (or setting a different colour) under Adjust Image Styles, but the white pixels are always transparent in the map. I've tried searching ...

Thanks Jeff, so it's not specific to postcode, but rather any boundary e.g. country, locality/suburb, postcode.... Good to know, I'll give it a try. Regards, Tim ------------------------------ Timothy Mashford Melbourne, Australia ------------------------------

Hi Eileen, Your post states: Sort your input table by postcode before geocoding to help with performance. Could you explain how/why this works? Thanks, Tim ------------------------------ Timothy Mashford Melbourne, Australia ------------------------------

Try running a query on your data, and order by the Size column from largest to smallest. e.g. Select * From range_data Order By Size Desc Then, map this query result and create the thematic on it. From memory, the spatial indexing inside MapInfo files means the draw order can't be controlled. However, ...

Measurements in MapInfo will be approximate only, for example any hills/slopes will add walking distance which MapInfo won't take into account using the standard measurement tool. You could purchase a Measuring Wheel ($20-$30 on ebay) and walk the route, see what that says? If it's more than 3 miles, ...
