Hello all, What is the status of .tab file size limits in Mapinfo 17.0.3? Can it consume a tab file bigger than 2gb? Or if it is presented with a .tab file larger than 2gb does it just present what it can and ditch the rest? Thanks, Stuart ------------------------------ Stuart Carter Corporate ...

Hello all, I have a point dataset with around 300 records. I've been asked to create neighbourhood clusters with these points. Where each cluster has 20 records. The output would be that I have an extra column in the data called area 1, area 2, area 3 etc. Each would contain 20 records where the only ...

Hello group, I have a polygon table of wards (23 objects). I have a another table of a street network where one object = one named street. I want to know what ward each street is in. Whilst a simple column update intersect is useful for those streets fully within one ward, it's not so great for ...

Hello MI, I have a need to convert a line objects table (of protected shop frontages) to polygons. I need just 3 metre buffers. I've used the Buffer>Buffer Objects function to create a 3 metre buffer for each map object. This works well and carries over the object attributes from the line ...

Hi Chris, I think I have the/a solution for you. Open the tab file in Mapinfo and run an SQL Query by ordering by the field of your choice (the one that's not in alphabetical order). Save the resulting query as anew .tab. If you then publish that .tab file and view in SSA and click at any location ...

Hi Chris, I'm just thinking out loud here, but if you a) re-order the data in Mapinfo, and then b) work out a way of perma-saving that reordering in the .tab file, then would that make difference to the order in which results return in SSA? Regards, Stuart Carter Corporate GIS ...

Hi Andy, Will the 2019 and 2020 versions do a better job with word wrapping for map group and layer name titles? See below example... Thanks, Stuart Stuart Carter Corporate GIS Manager Southwark Council 2nd floor, zone B 160 Tooley Street London, SE1 2QH Tel: ...

Thanks for that. Layer friendly name function I always give my tab files a friendly name, so this will be a useful improvement. It will overcome a problem that came into SSA around version 12 (?). Volatile Again, a useful function to have at the point of uploading. It saves having to find ...

Hi Andy, I've mentioned this before but it is absolutely vital it is still possible to create the workspace ion Mapinfo, save as workspace and upload as is to Spectrum. That is the ideal way of doing it as there is benefit of setting up and visualising it in Mapinfo first. Thanks, Stuart ...

Thanks for that, Susan. "For any table that you intend to change the structure volatile needs to be set to 'True' else it would throw up an error": Yes, but I wasn't changing the structure. Just adding/deleting objects and editing existing attributes/objects. But, yes, it's looking better with ...

Hi Duri, Potentially, I have good news. I've set that table in Spatial Manager to read only=true and volatile=true. I then carried out a few tests on editing in MIPro. On all occasions it did not generate the same locked file error as before. I'm giving this a cautious thumbs up ...

Thanks for that, Susan. In Windows Explorer the .tab file is not set to Read Only. In Spatial Manager the Read-Only setting is set to False... Also, I done the following: 1, Via MI Pro I saved table to a different location 2, Saved with a different name "TestTPOIndyEditable" 3, ...

Thanks for that, Boris. We have around 1000 tables linked to SSA. This appears to be the only one to experience these problems. Thanks, Stuart

Thanks for that, John. Other tables are being edited over the network to the server. Unfortunately I have no control over anti-virus software settings. I took the matter through PB Support before raising it here, but I didn't get anywhere with that. Thanks anyway. Stuart

Hi John, I suppose it's possible that our IT service providers have done so, but I wouldn't know. To be honest it going to be near impossible to find out. But why does this happen on this one table? Why not on everything else on that directory? Thanks, Stuart
