So, Nick's solution works...takes a very long time to process though, 1300 arrows probably took an hour or so. And clearly I need to finesse my data set! ------------------------------ Martin Burroughs Oldham Council ------------------------------

I've got some data with 2 columns, start postcode and end postcode. I also have postcode centroids as points. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to create an arrowed line for each row in the table? Or if not an easy way, then a difficult way :-). Martin ------------------------------ Martin Burroughs ...

Hi, I'm mapping information using a thematic map (V17). Graduated points. My information is in integers. The legend insists on showing decimals though. Obviously this is less than helpful when people try to interpret what they are seeing on the map- how do I constrain it to integers? Also, while I'm ...

Thanks Peter. Just been trying the first example. I can't save in that folder, but I can save in \insight and intel and then do a relative link from there Open Table "\GIS\10000.TAB" doesn't work second one Open Table "%USERPROFILE%\Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council\reformsps - Documents\Insight and ...

Given the Covid situation, I'd guess a lot of organisations like mine are looking to shift all or most servers onto Sharepoint, which works way faster remotely. I've been experimenting with this and Mapinfo. The "Mapinfo doesnt work with Sharepoint" line in other posts doesn't seem to be true, I guess ...

maybe Where A.obj contains B.obj ?? I'd probably actually buffer the streets, save that as a layer then check for trees within the buffers.  ------------------------------ Martin Burroughs Oldham Council ------------------------------

Hi, I've got a dataset of occupied properties as points, which when zoomed out gives a good impression of residential areas. works very well. But then I decided i needed some translucency. Rather than actually providing translucency however, it seems to have the odd effect of just making the edges ...

Just thinking about this again, there would be two ways the data would be stored. Some data would have a different column for each date (usually moving through time from left to right). This would be the case for unemployment and IMD. Some data which comes as one datafeed (Covid data) will be a flat ...

Hi Patrick, no, not Raster data, usually thematic maps or point data. So for example Indices of deprivation as a thematic map- being able to click through between different iterations and compare. Unemployment figures, mapped thematically at LSOA level as  percentage of working age population. ...

Thanks John, voted for that. This is such core visualisation ability these days it's a surprise it's not there. It is possible to set up scripts to export time slices and then use animated gifs, but that takes significant time. You'd think it'd be a good selling point when demoing MI as well. I can see ...

I notice ESRI, QGIS and even Cadcorp now have time sliders- really useful tech. Will this be appearing for Mapinfo soon? Or is it there and I've missed it? Martin ------------------------------ Martin Burroughs Oldham Council ------------------------------

Hi Stuart, I've never found it pleasant working with street data like that! Somehow there are always annoying exceptions to whatever approach you take. I'd presume the ideal to end up with is a list of street USRN's, and a flag column for each ward, so you can filter on that for the streets in each ward? ...

There a conversion website that allows multiples  https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/tab-to-kml Obviously might depend on the sensitivity of the data. These converters tend to be pretty good, but sometimes oddities in file formats can put them off. But the more tools you have the more chance one will ...

I'd second that html or xml tagging would be a great step forward! Maybe for labels as well as text boxes. One for the future perhaps? ------------------------------ Martin Burroughs Oldham Council ------------------------------

Looks great! I would echo James in saying that negation is the toughest bit to get your head round, so if that could be in this wizard in future that'd be great. ------------------------------ Martin Burroughs Oldham Council ------------------------------
