Hi, If I can, how do I pass a parameter to the "FromPython" (the one from example) MapBasic subroutine or function from python side? It didn't work when I tried this thisApplication.CallMapBasicSubroutine("FromPython", 1) # as a sub or thisApplication.CallMapBasicSubroutine("FromPythonFunc", ...

OGR way works slightly better than GDAL, but they both don't return any metadata at dataset level or layer level. So does GetMetadataDomainList(). There was nothing returned. They don't throw errors just empty returns. I guess the documentation was right. Thanks. ------------------------------ Ferhad ...

Just some updates: Tried reading SHP file (ogr.GetDriverByName("ESRI Shapefile")) works fine and reading metadata correctly. Tried reading with another format of MapInfo file (ogr.GetDriverByName("MapInfo EFAL")) and also failed. Still no clues why. Maybe I'm missing sth. ------------------------------ ...

Hi Peter, Thanks for your quick respond. I've already tried with MapBasic functions. It worked fine and I'll definitely use it that way for large portion of my work. But I'm just doing a little experiment to see if I can achieve what I need by using secondary (or more) thread for scenarios like ...

Hi Anshui, I feel like this is probably the best place to ask. Please do let me know if otherwise. For some reason, I need to use OGR (see below example) to extract certain customized metadata stored in MapInfo ".tab" file, i.e. a date stamp. This customized metadata is proven to be available ...

Thank you so much Peter for the answer. I'm still trying hard to make it work. My question does involve opening the tables (your suggestions would perfectly work for that part) but it was more about downloading data (and saving as .tab files) from our PG server using python preferably. I can still try ...

Hi there, I'm trying to rewrite some old MapBasic extensions with Python on MapInfo Pro 2023. In our old codes, below MapBasic commands played super important role and I'm trying to keep it that way (to keep it as a linked table out of PG). Server hdbc Link Table sql Toolkit "ODBC" Into "TABLE_A" ...

Hi there, I've been instructed that, to proper utilize debugging options for python codes on vsc, we'll need to use mi_py_debugger. But for some reason, my MapInfo Pro python environment keeps telling me that I don't have mi_py_debugger library in my environment. And I've searched my entire hard drive, ...

Sorry, guys if I made some confusions. I meant to say that when I apply a filter criteria on browser table and then when I do some updates, save the table and respond yes for Refresh?, and then the filter that I applied previously would go away.   ?

Hi, Im not sure if this has been fixed or not. I have an environment that has PG + MapInfo?. When I make a selection from a certain Linked table either by manual or by query or by filter, then I would make some changes to some of the records on the selection, then when I hit save, itll save to database ...
