62s. Noselect + no Tools running got the 55s. But either way the noselect was the major factor yes.

Peter, Its the noselect clause. Adding that cut the runtime down to 62s. Removing windows had no effect. Removing all tools additionally cut the time down to 55s. But the real issue seems to be the noselect clause, which wasnt an issue in MI16 or MI15.   Ali

Thanks for the tip on explorer, that will work for me. I usually dont use explorer at all, i use layer on the right side and tables/windows on the left. But this will be fine. As for the legend, yes I used 200dpi, but changing the DPI does not have an effect for me. The legend objects are always smaller ...

I just installed MI17. The legend rendering has not changed for me, the legend is still smaller than it should be.   Also, did you guys get rid of the layer window? What was the thinking there?
