  • 1.  Restricting script running to a particular tab in a workbook / template

    Posted 17 hours ago

If I have a template excel file with many tabs in it. Is there a way that i can prevent a script from running on any other tab than the one it has been developed for . Example

    Tab 1 - Customer names

    Tab 2 - Products

I have a script that runs MM02 to update product data. I only want it to be able to run against the Tab 2.. Better yet - If Tab 1 is active - would be to run the script and it knows that it needs to jump to tab 2 to process ?

    Thanks

Well I answered my own question - On the RUN menu item - top left - where it specifies Sheet - Start Row - End Row.

There is a little padlock symbol. It seems one can "lock" it to what you specify in your script. Excellent feature.

    Hi Russel,

Yes, the padlock icon in Automate Studio is used to lock specific run settings, including the Sheet, so that a runner cannot change them. This ensures that the script always uses the designated sheet.
    Thanks
