I finally got my MapInfo 2023 upgrade (build release 120), and I am going through and setting it up the way I want, which involves getting a ton of programs I like to use from the MapInfo Marketplace.  However, when I try to connect to it, I always get this error message.

message I get when I try to connect to marketplace

Anyone have a clue what I can do to resolve this?

    Thanks in advance

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan

Can you try to log out from the Services tab on the Backstage (the Pro tab), and then log in again?

    Does that help?

The Marketplace seems to be having difficulty retrieving the products loaded and your download history.!!

I had a notification that I had updates but then could not find my history to update.

    Hi John

Yeah, I have seen that misbehavior too.

We have logged a bug against this but we haven't found the root cause. I was able to make it work by creating a new account using my private email but that surely is just a workaround and not something we suggest as a general workaround.

I recently pushed an update to Site Mapper to the Marketplace. Maybe that's the update available to you, John?

So I found a way to connect to the Marketplace on Chrome, and just download the MBX zip files and I am registering them myself one by one.  Not as good as just selecting them and having them install automatically, but this works.  Hopefully the access directly to Marketplace will get fixed at some point.

    Thanks as always

    Hi Ryan

Yeah, they can be downloaded manually from the MapInfo Marketplace as you figured out.

Did you reach out to support to get them to look into the issue?

Hi Peter,  I have not reached out to support yet, that is my next step.

In downloading many of these tools, there are about 10 that I love to use.  I cannot find one in particular.  I do not remember what it is called, but it adds many "right-click" options inside the explorer window, one of the functions that I use all the time is to copy the layer properties of a layer in the explorer window and paste them onto another similar layer.

I absolutely love this function, but I cannot seam to find this tool in marketplace.  Do you recall what that tool is called?  And if it is actually not in the Marketplace, are you able to provide me with a copy?

    Thanks as always

    Ryan

    Ryan

I can think of two tools that have a feature like the one you describe.

    • Kalu's Multi Mapper Helper would be my initial guess as it allows you to "push" the layer settings from one layer onto another layer.
    • WindowHelper allows you to copy the layer settings and then paste them onto one or more other layers.

I hope you find the right one

Hi Peter, thanks for the idea, unfortunately, this did not work.  I logged out, and logged in again, but still got the exact same error message.

Any thoughts on what else to try?

    Thanks

    Ryan

I'm not sure what else to try, Ryan. I doubt it would help to try specifying a different standard browser. I'm suing Chrome.

I'd suggest you reach out to our support team

Is there a way to access the MapInfo Marketplace externally?  Or get access to the MBX files on there a different way?

I really need to figure this one out, there are several MBX programs on there that I use quite frequently, and not having them is definitely an issue for me.

    Thanks

    Ryan
