Hi Kurt
From the information you had shared, it seemed the "Filter already defined" meant a validation rule (or filter condition) had already been applied to this field, and you are attempting to add a second one that conflicted with the existing definition.
You can perform the following troubleshooting steps. If this does not resolve the issue, please create a support ticket at support.precisely.com and share a copy of the solution, including the reference lists and Blackbird and Evolve logs. Please see the article below on how to capture the blackbird logs.

Step 1 - Identify the Field in the Form Designer
To locate field_3385_html_1_html:
- Open your form solution in Automate Evolve Solution Builder.
- Go to the Data or Fields panel (usually accessible via the form's XML structure or field list).
- Look for any HTML field, Rich Text field, or text area in the form - particularly those inside repeating tables or groups.
- The field number (
3385) corresponds to the internal ID assigned when the field was created. Check your HTML/Rich Text fields in the form.
Step 2 - Check for Duplicate Validation Rules
In the Properties pane, click Properties. On the Properties tab, next to Rules, click the Options [...] button. The Rules Inspector opens. You can use the Rules Inspector to get a snapshot or "dashboard" of all the rules in your solution. From the Rules Inspector, you can search for specific rules in the search bar to filter results, and view all rules applied to a field by clicking the name of the field.
Use the Rules Inspector to:
- Search for rules referencing
field_3385 or any HTML field.
- Check whether the same field has more than one validation rule or filter applied to it.
- Delete the duplicate or conflicting rule.
Step 3 - Check for Duplicate Views or Form Elements
It is recommended to check everything in the form and workflow for duplicates - not just view names, but also field names, rule names, and control bindings. If you find duplicates, try removing and recreating the problematic elements.
Step 4 - Review Conditions on the Validation Rule
When creating a Validation Rule, click to open the Rule Condition creator to define conditions under which the rule comes into effect. Conditions can be basic value comparisons or involve complex formulas. Ensure each field used in conditions is referenced only once per filter definition.
Thanks
