  • 1.  BP GUI Recording Window Closes Suddenly After "Save"

    Hello Community - wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and may know a fix!

    We are experiencing an issue with Studio during the recording of SAP transactions such as BP or CRC1 that are supposed to be persistent after a "Save". The issue is that, during recording, the recording GUI window is closing directly after a "Save". This issue is occurring only while recording through Studio - the functionality is working properly in our "regular" SAP GUI environments. 

    The behavior that we'd expect after clicking "Save" in one of these persistent GUI transactions is for the GUI window to stay open to allow for continued editing or entering new data without restarting the transaction. This functionality was actually working for us up until recently, and it has been quite the puzzle to try and understand why the GUI is unexpectedly closing during a recording. 

    Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

    Hi Samuel

    Not 100% sure I understand the issue, but I do know for BP, you have to create it in "chunks". Each save point is a script - unless you are using GUI scripting or perhaps a BAPI.

    That means you would create General data and save as a script, dd/update company data and save as a script, add/update sales data and save as a script, etc. The same holds true for GUI and also Fiori.  On the flipside, you can create an entire Product in Fiori in one go, but not BP.

    You can chain the scripts together so that one click of a "Run" button will run all 3 scripts.
