  • 1.  Spectrum patches for v2020.1 and later versions

    Hi there, 

    I was wandering whether Precisely engineering could assist with providing some scripts to help automate the application of patches S28, S32 and S43 to platform version 2020.1? I understand there has been a lot going on after log4j issues, but I count that patch S28 has over 70 files that need to be deleted prior to applying the patch. The process is extremely time consuming and prone to errors on client test and production environments. 

    Happy to provide further information on requirements if needed.

    I love this idea in general. Whenever I'm backing up or removing files with Spectrum patches, I always think "there should be a script for this!" All it would need is a parameter for your Spectrum home directory (SpectrumDirectory in patch release notes parlance).

    I'm disappointed this hasn't gained traction. I'd even settle for a text file that contains the paths of all the files I need to back up. PDFs stink.

    Yes we understand the patch process was a manual process and we are implementing on our Roadmap the use of the installer to apply releases in 2023 going forward.  Thank you for your thoughts and use of Spectrum.

    Where can we see the roadmap for product development, this issue has been raised a number of times over the years.
