  • 1.  Extract MSI from MaintenanceRelease.exe for silent install

    If I use the /a command line parameter on the MapInfoProXX.X.XMaintenanceRelease.exe I can extract the MSI to use for unattended installs. But do the EXE include something else that I will be missing if I do this? With the main MapInfo installation, this is not possible as the EXE file installs prerequisites. I have a client, where running the EXE silent, gives an error 1203. I want to try with the MSI instead because I can apply logging when installing this.

    Hi Hans,

    If you are installing the Maintenance Patch for MapInfo Pro it comes in a download format as MSP or the EXE. Only the MapInfo Pro setup.exe from the full installation checks for prerequisites. Please see the command line info for the MSP file with a link below. Most Admins use the MSP file for silent installs : http://www.pbinsight.com/support/product-downloads/item/mapInfo-pro-v16.0.2-maintenance-release-msp-file

    Hans,

    We now have a MSP for certain versions of MapInfo Pro Danish too.

    The latest one is MapInfo Pro 16.0.3. Let me know if you are interested in having this.
