Hi Natalie and John -- Thanks for pointing out a hole in our documentation. I've created a ticket and will get the compression settings documented.

Hi Natalie.
It is frustrating that it's not available in the user guide. I had looked in our 8.2 manual to no avail so I had asked about it in one of my support tickets about a year or so ago and this was the explanation on how it worked:
- A 0 value means "No Compression". 100 is maximum. The default is usually set at 50 and the "Allow Compression" field needs to be set to "Yes".
- Compression does not affect PNGs... only JPGs.
Considering that we rely on our images to be as pristine as possible, we don't use the compression settings in the PIM.
I hope that this helps.

Does anyone have any experience using the compression option on the DAM variants. I am not seeing any thing in my user guides for what should be used in the compression quality as far a range and difference for JPG and PNG is taken into account.
