    I am having issues with mapinfo crashing when loading a layout. It will load eventually but after 15mins+

    Hey Peter, What version are you using? Does this happen with every project?

    It does happen with all projects. Usually it is only for 30 secs or so. But lately it has happened for much longer.

    It specifically happens when I load a map into a frame.

     

    I am using Mapinfo Pro 15.2.4 (64bit)

    Hi Peter,

    Before loading MapInfo Pro, Can you try going into your Windows, Devices and Printers, and set MapInfo Pro as your default printer.

    Second, Start up MapInfo Pro , (don't load anything yet)

    Click on Pro > Options > Startup > and uncheck Save and Restore Printer information. Click OK.

    startup pref

    Then, Click on > Pro >Options > Printer and make sure MapInfo Pro is the default Windows Preferred.

    Now, Load a Map into MapInfo Pro, and Click on New Layout > Add Map to Layout.

    Does this work?

    Sometimes you can experience lag, if you are working with files across a network as opposed to being local on the machine.

    If you are still having trouble, as Dave A. Mentioned, please list version of MapInfo Pro. and Version of Windows. Thanks

    Hi Peter

    Can you please share sample of your project to help resolve the issue that you are facing, if its not difficult for you to share?

    A few question before you share project sample:

    • Is it a workspace that launch features with high zoom value?
    • Does the workspace have too many labels to load?

    The Printer settings seem to have sorted it all out. No waiting at all.
