What's the difference between export point from raster and point inspect from raster.

After I export points from raster I checked the data using point inspect using the exported point locations and not all the points had the same elevation data.

Why?

Hi @Daryl Robinson?, do you mean the Raster Operations > Export? Which settings did you choose? I have just tested this and exported the cell values to points in a tab. See the image below. I have the same values from both operations.

Image 1 shows the points that have been extracted from the DTM cell centers.

Image 2 shows the values that are stored in the tab file from both the Export function and the Point Inspection that was run on the same set of points.

When you ran the point inspection tool I assume the locations were slightly different to the export locations? Are the datasets in the same projection?

Image 3 show additional points from another layer with separate locations returning the same value.

When we look at the data again, this time with the same DTM projected in to WGS84 instead of the original British Nation Grid we can see a difference. This has come around due to resampling of values during the reprojection. Is it possible the datasets are in different projections?
