I have been advised that this is free data available from ABS, but I haven't been able to find it. Does is go in data packs same as demographics?

They may have been referring to the National Regional Profile, I believe the Environmental data has land use information down to SA2.

It does provide information on total land area size, but doesn't tell Land Use. I found that Mesh blocks data set provides information on Land Use.

I have attached csv. file with all the codes which can be used to attach land use information for SA1,2,3,4.

Would that be correct to refer to this information?

I'm not very familiar with the data so cant really comment on how appropriate it is, MeshBlocks are the smallest ABS statistical boundary so it makes sense to me to use them if the data is available at that level.
