Uber Movement launched publically yesterday, giving city planners in many locations access to a free dataset for traffic patterns. In their own words: "Uber Movement provides anonymized data from over two billion trips to help urban planning around the world". To access the data, you just need a normal Uber account.

This kind of access through an intuitive user interface will be very useful for many city planners. When there is a need to develop more automated tools, this may require a vector data set such as StreetPro Navigation which is available from PB and our partners in many markets.
