    Hi Sunil -

In the VA42, there is a button for "Item to Top", that lets you position by item number, material, description, cust. material, PO Item, and that places the line you want to update on the first row. Once you have the desired line item positioned up top, then you can select line one and then hit the "Display Item Details" button to go into the details. You can make your field changes in the detail screen, back out, and then save.

If you wanted to add in a loop you could, starting with hitting the "Item to Top" button until you come back to the main contract screen, but looping is not necessary, as you can just update the contract line item changes one at a time. It will give you the same result.

    Thank you!

Using the second option "but looping is not necessary, as you can just update the contract line item changes one at a time. It will give you the same result", if I have 5 line-items, the contract is saved five times. I want all line items to be updated in for one contract and save once

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Sunil,

That's what a loop is for - updating multiple line items and doing one save for the entire "document", i.e. contract, BOM, sales order, PO, etc.  Jennifer suggested how you can use a loop.

    Hi Sunil

Jennifer suggested how.  Here's the specifics

Open the contract and then put a loop around these steps

Please ensure you go back to the first tab in the details, so that the next line items start in the same place.

Then outside of the loop, click save.

    Please give it a try.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

    Hi Sunil,

I think you got close :)  it would help if you post your script to see what is going on.  Any also any error messages you're getting.

    Hi Sunil

Like i said, you're close.  A few things:
The screen with POSI positions the line item.  That needs to happen for each one, so please include in the loop.

As I suggested in the prior post, SAP remembers the tab you left off on, so you need to return to the first tab.  That's why the 2nd line fails, because it thinks it's on SalesA looking for quantity, when it's really on shipping.  You can see this if you run in DEBUG mode.
If you change your OK code from /00 (enter) to =T\01 (go to first tab), you will correct this, and the script will always start in the same place, which is a best practice.

    Hi Sigrid

As you mentioned, I changed the script as shown below

When I execute it, I am getting following error

Requested function T/01 is not available here

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Sunil,

The equal sign is required by SAP as part of the "ok code",  so   =T\01

You could also re-record - it should only take a few minutes.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

    I tried it.

It goes through the first detailed line. For the second it gets stuck on the grid and the popup window for item number does not come up

    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Sunil -

Per my original response, the loop needs to start with the "Item to top" button being clicked. Your script still does not include that piece in the loop. So your loop needs to start sooner, including the previous screen where it includes the action =POPO, which is the "Item to top" button. The full screen needs to be included in your loop, not just the OK Code line with the =POPO.

    Thank you.
