  • 1.  Query / download Order Line item text notes

    Hello,

     

    I need to create a query or download which ties an order line to the corresponding line item text notes.  I have researched and found that I should be able to do it via a join from STXL to VBUV to VBAP but I have not been successful.

     

    STXL      VBUV       VBAP

    TDID<->TDID

                  VBELN<->VBEL

                  POSNR<->POSNR

     

    Does anybody have any suggestions/ideas?

    Hey Rita -

    Do you already know the Sales Order numbers and the line items you want to read the long text for?  If so, then an rFM might be easier, using RFC_READ_TEXT. You need to provide the Text Name, which is the concatenation of the sales order number and the line item number (including the leading zeroes), and then you would also tell it which specific long texts you wanted to download. This info is available if you go into the specific long text and go to menu option Goto > Header.

    You could hard code those within the script or map them if you want them to be changeable. 

    I've attached my example for Sales Order > Line Item > Item note. I've hard coded everything in my example except the Text Name.

    Thank you so much Jennifer.  It worked!!!  I really didn't know how to create a script to read a Function Module; is there any documentation on your web-site specific to that?

    There are various resources on the Direct module of Winshuttle Studio:


    The above learning resources are all on how to use Winshuttle Studio's Direct module with BAPIs and rFMs in general, not specific ones. Unless the BAPIs or rFMS were written by Winshuttle, Winshuttle does not provide specific documentation for how to use them with Direct. Most of the BAPIs and rFMS are written by SAP and some of them have documentation, and sometimes that documentation is helpful. Mostly, I just google how to use a particular BAPI / rFM by name and tend to have good luck finding information that way.
