    Hello

I'm creating a chained script (3 queries and 1 transaction).

Question 1: For each query/transaction, is it necessary to validate the Log On for SAP? Is it not possible to validate once?

Question 2: I'd like to have a message box with the message [Transaction Finished] or something like that, because while the script is running we can't know if it's finished or not. Is it possible?

    Thanks so much!!

    Hola Manuel,

SAP login is needed only once within a chain of scripts.
Go to chain settings (screenshot) and then to ALC.

    sap logon from 1st script

When I run chained scripts, Winshuttle studio 12.1 gives me the message 'All scrips ran succesfully'.
Furthermore, the log table of the last script is filled out, so that's another sign all scrips within the chain have finished.

    Thank you Jan

I've done what you say, but it works only when you are chaining only queries or only transactions. In my case I have both and it's necessary to validate the Log On for each one... The custom option is not available... :(

Concerning the message box, I didn't say before that I run the scripts embebed into the Excel File and with the most of the pages hiden, for user's appearence reasons... In this case it's difficult to realize if the scripts have finished or not... I need a real message box. I can do it directly by an Excel Macro in VB, but the problem is that the message is shown before the script has finished. I  launch by VB the starting of the Winshuttle and the message appears inmediately. I need something into the winshuttle script...

    Hi Manuel,

if you start your script from vb then you can check in vb if the last row of the log filecolumn is filled.
Don't show the message box until this is filled.
Or make check the log header and check if the Execution time  has a value.  That should work for both Transaction and Query.

    Hi Manuel

As you've found out, chaining transaction and query scripts does not allow you to carry through the initial login between them.  Once you switch between the two, i.e. from query to transaction or transaction to query, it will prompt for another login.

I would suggest you open a support ticket requesting our product team consider an enhancement for a single login to work.   I think it should work with one login, as well. :)

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid

Thank you Jan. Thank you Sigrid.

Jan: Concerning the starting of the scripts. I was able to run the script once a cell changes, so your information was very helpful!
