Maintenance plan IW41

    Hello experts,

    I am trying to do a recording of the maintenance plan transaction, IW41. But the values for 'Cycle' information are not getting picked up from the data file. It ends up with the error 'Fill in all the mandatory fields', no matter how I change the sequence in which I populate the fields in recording. Is there a way around this?

    Can you please include your script and/or screen shots and share exactly what isn't getting loaded?  I'm also curious if you're using a task list to confirm or if it's just a single confirmation.

    Thanks for the quick response.

     

    I have included my script and a screenshot of the transaction here.

    It is to create a single-cycle maintenance plan. I have referred task list in the transaction.

    In the recording, I populated header fields (Cycle info), then the item level (Equipment and tasklist)- tried vice versa as well. On running the script, Cycle information is not picked from the excel file.

     

    Please let me know if you would need any further information.

    Thanks for attaching the script.  No wonder I was confused about where the cycle data was - you're doing IP41....lol  :)

    I'm not sure I have much experience there, but I will take a look.

    It's all good, Thara.  It happens.  I had an LOL moment - not laughing at you but at me for trying to find cycle info in IW41.   It was a good review of confirmations, as I haven't looked in a while :)

    Thank you Sigrid. It worked great.

    Wondering why my script did not work. Believe it is the messages popping up in the transaction.

    Hi Thara
    Please consider running it in Debug mode to see what is happening in your script.  The only pop-up I had was at the end to schedule or not.  For pop-ups that only happen sometimes, you can enable the skip if not present parameter on the pop-up screen name.

    Hi Thara - thanks for the note stating that you re-recorded IP41 with the cycle data in the first batch on inputs and that it now works.  Sometimes it matters what you fill in before pressing enter - although it's often not the case, this is one of them.  You are a good script developer - it's just SAP being finicky.  :)

    Please take a look here - there is no OK code, like ENTER (typically /00)  or SAVE (for this BU)  or anything like that.

    I moved those 3 lines at the end of the first screen full of data - i.e. lines 26-28 after Group Counter, something like this

    You also have an extra pop-up I don't get - not the one at the end for the scheduling.

    Lastly, I believe you're creating an order instead of a notification, so you'll have slightly different fields here and there, but that's not a big deal.

    Those are the only differences I see.

    Don't see anything really wrong with your script.  So I created one of my own, and it worked - so I'm attaching it.  Please note it's not an exact match to yours - just an example.


    I also added some IF logic for the pop-up on whether you schedule it or not.  It might be overkill.
