Hi Lindsay,
It really depends on your needs.
What FBS1 does is embedding reversal date upfront. The result is manual posting with pre-defined reversal date that you chose at the time of data entry. This however doesn't mean it will be immediately or automatically reversed on the given date. You still need to do it manually. However the good thing is that you can reverse all FBS1 documents at one run. Open up transaction F.81, enter company code and run it (default run is a test run)- it will show all FBS1 documents that are available for reversal. So if you choose to do a non-test run, it will reverse them all, and the reversal date you gave at the time of posting will the the one used. This is - if it was correct, as you won't be able to do that for example in closed period.
To sum up:
- you can mass-post with the mentioned template and give the system a reversal date
- then you mass reverse the accruals in F.81
And a side note - you can manually change the reversal date on each posted accrual using FB02.
This also means it really is for accruals that you would reverse next month and you're sure about it, as otherwise you would spend time on manual chaging of documents (unless there's a Winshuttle template for that :) ).
As an alternative to FBS1, you can simply use another logic - post standard manual entry (FB50/FB01/F-02), using a document type that is not in use for any other type of entry. In your case this might be 'ZA' if this is only for accruals. Then you can mass-reverse them in F.80 giving a specific reversal date. So the difference is basically that you give the reversal date when you actually choose to reverse the documents, not upfront like it is via FBS1.

Subject: Winshuttle templates and SAP tcode to book accruals
Hi Winshuttle team,
Am wondering if there's a template that I can upload mutiple manual accruals (ZA entries) into SAP at once?
I found the FBS1 template but not really sure how it will work?
Thanks a lot.
