Hello All.

I am trying to pull the "Basic Data Text" from MM02 for all materials.  We store more descriptive text here, longer than the 40 Char's given in the Material Description field.

This information is not stored in a table, and so far I have been unable to get "Create from Recording" to work.

If anyone has done this before, I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions.

Hi Rick

I would not use Query, except to maybe find the materials.  Long text is stored in tables ,but in 72 character chunks with geeky codes to get the right ones

The best way to download the long text, is to use the long text feature in v11/12.    Please check out the documentation - here's the v12 link:  https://winshuttle-help.s3.amazonaws.com/studio/en/connect-sap/help/12/Record-long-text.htm#Add

You can record a simple MM02 to open say basic data and then close the transaction.  In the mapper choose the long text and then upload or download as one long string.

I managed to do this by using Query and use the STXL table. See attachments.
