  • 1.  Skip Fields that does not need to be udpated

    Hi All,

    I have 10 fields in the Template that i have created, But most of the time there are only 5 - 6 fields that needs to be updated and the rest of the fields are not present in the file and i want those field values to be skipped. How can this be achieved.

    You can find in the header of excel Winshuttle or Winshuttle the Skip Indicator. There are a few options to skip a field. You can use back slash, forward slash, or blank. Whatever one you use make sure to indicate in the pull down and have the Skip Indicator check box active as show in the screen shoots. The pictures are from version 12. Fill in the fields that you want to skip with the option you pick. Standard default I use is back slash ( \ ).

    Hi Vag

    Benjamin is correct regarding using a skip field indicator.  When Studio see's that character, it will skip uploading the values and leave whatever is in SAP as is.

    As a developer, you can set the default in Studio 

    if you use it, make sure the Runners know what the skip field indicator is.  You might consider locking it, so that runners don't change it.

    You could also use IF statements.  If the column Is NOT EMPTY, for example, you could upload the value, otherwise you skip it.
    You can add those on the Expert view.
