  • 1.  Promoting Repeating Field to SharePoint

    Posted 11-20-2019 11:18
When promoting a repeating field to SharePoint I have the option of picking first, last, count or merge. I picked merge and the output shows up in the column as a comma separated values. For example, the column name is plant and the output is plant1,plant2,plant3. I was expecting multiple rows with the same title but one for each plant. How can I achieve this?

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

    Hello Bill,

I do not believe this is possible.  Having multiple records for a request in SharePoint would make for a very messy DB behind the scenes.  Maybe someone else can help, but I think what you are hoping for would be separate requests.

    Hi Bill,

Scott is right. SharePoint and Winshuttle work together by using one row per form. Having multiple rows in the list for a single form would break that relationship. You could output the table in the form to a separate SharePoint lists, but you would need to ensure all the additional fields you need for reporting on those plants is also in that table.

    Hi Bill,

One way we have got around this for reporting purposes is using PowerQuery (Excel). Exporting a direct connection to the SharePoint and then choosing the option to split be delimiter (comma) and rows. The result is one row for each item that was originally split by commas.
