Friends,

Am using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA for Material Master creation (MM01). My requirement is to auto populate the Material Number when entered Material Type, Industry Sector and Sales Org fields (Plant, Storage Loc, Sales Org, Distribution Channel, Mat Group) fields.  In Basic Data 1, Manufacture Part Number is the source for Material Number along with few other fields and unable to create the material number. At present am trying to load only Basic Data 1 tab, and not sure where am doing wrong in mapping.

Can anyone please help me.

Hi Naveen,
If you want to load masterdata for existing material, I would start off with a query (MARA-table) in which you start from Mfr-partnumber (MARA-MFRPN) to get the material code (MARA-MATNR). That would give you the missing entry of material number for your BAPI upload.
If you want to start a new material, I would start off with creation of a new material number with BAPI_STDMATERIAL_GETINTNUMBER to get material codes and to get missing entries for your BAPI masterdata upload.

you could chain both scripts to have both scripts in one go.
