  • 1.  Composer: Initialize field value of radio button

    Posted 08-16-2019 11:06
    Hello @all,

has anyone ever tried to initialize the field value of a radio button with a rule in Composer?
I have now tried it in my solution, but the field value is not reset.

I created a button and added a rule by pressing the button: Set field value [my radio button field] = "".
    But nothing happened.

Does anyone have a tip for me?

    Thank you in advance!

    Best Regards,
    Manfred

I have had no issues with using a rule to set a field value of a radio button as long as the value exists.  Are you trying to remove all radio buttons by using a ""?  My guess is that once it is set you can not clear a radio button.  I have not found anyway manually to clear all radio buttons once one has been selected and I would guess you can not do it systematically either.

You probably don't want to but you could add a selection for None or Null and leave the value blank.  You can then add a rule that will set the value to "" or even just leave the field blank.  I added this to one of my solutions to check and it will allow me to set the radio selection to Null.

    Hi Greg,

thank you for your answer. Yes, I am trying to remove or initialize an already selected value of a radio button.

For a better understanding: The manager in my form can choose a value from a radio button. This sends the process back to a specific point in the workflow. The process is then assigned to the manager again. Unfortunately, the value of the radio button has not changed after the reassignment to the manager. As a result, the loop is repeatedly run through or the process terminates as soon as the manager wants to forward it.

Therefore I wanted to initialize the value of the radio button. I also tried JavaScript rules, but didn't succeed either (I'm not a JS expert either). Probably you are right and it is not possible to delete an already set value of a radio button.

I build my solution now with check boxes. Here I can set the value to "true" or "false", as I like.

Thank´s a lot for your Suggestion!

    Best Regards,
    Manfred
