  • 1.  CV01N, wrong field mapping

    Hello, we have some trouble with T-code CV01N.

    We are having trouble completing the fields in Additional Data. Depending on the scaled window size, different numbers of lines per page are displayed. In the script we address the line via the number (eg "line019"). Depending on the size of the window, the lines also move to the next page. Thus, the assignment in the script no longer fits.

    Question: Does anyone have experience with it? Is there another solution?

    Hello Rüdiger, 

    In the recording, are the technical field names all the same with just a number in parentheses? If so, when you page down, do the numbers start over at 1? This would indicate that each field is generic and therefore dependent on arbitrary location on the page.

    If this is the case, the only real option when using a recording in Transaction would be to ensure that all users have the same screen resolution. Because of the generic nature of the fields, there's no other way to control in SAP on the screen which makes it impossible for Transaction to predict/update. 

    Alternatively you could investigate with your SAP IT team whether a BAPI or Remote Function Module exists for the same process and perhaps use Direct to build a script.

    By additional data I'm presuming you essentially mean the characteristics? If that's the case you can use a looped functionality that we were shown on our initial training.

    Instead of clicking on additional data do you see a classification button?


    Once there click on the position icon

    When the next window appears type in the name of the characteristic and set the Maximum number of hits to 1

    What this will do is to move the cursor to the characteristic and always put it at the top. You record this functionality once but loop it so it continually does the search on the characteristic name.



    Hope this helps....and that it makes sense! This works for characteristics full stop whether it's on documents, equipment or functional locations.

    HI Rüdiger ,

    We don't have that tab (additional data) in our SAP system, so I can't try this myself.

    If you record with the small size and use the page down button, does it not run consistently for each user?  I'm assuming you're not using GUI Scripting recording mode.  If you are, then it will matter.

    In your PDF screen shot, I see binoculars above the list.  Does that work to find the attribute?

    Just a few thoughts - hoping it helps.
