  • 1.  VA01 - Skip Screen if not present

    Hi, Everyone!

    Happy Friday!

I have written a validation script for VA01 whereby it returns "Success" or the appropriate error code for each line item based on whether there is stock or no stock.  In our system, if there is no stock an additional pop-up box appears.  I am trying to cover multiple scenarios (regular inventory items with stock; regular inventory items without stock; substitute inventory items with stock; and substitute inventory items without stock).  I have a skip screen if not present for the first pop-up regarding the substitute item (i.e. an obsolete material number is entered and a pop-up box with the 1:1 direct replacement appears and the user has to choose line 1) and then that "skip screen if not present" is followed by another "skip screen if not present" for the scenario where we may not have inventory on hand (i.e. this creates another pop-up box).  When I run through the validation, I am getting inconsistent results - an item marked as "Success" when there is no inventory and an item marked as "No batch input data for screen..."

Is there an issue with having 2 "skip screen if not present" lines back-to-back in a script?  Or any ideas what is causing this?  I need to resolve this prior to finalizing the creation of the customer order.  I am also going to open another ticket for this, but wanted to see if anyone has had a similar issue.

    Thank you!

    Hi Sue

Have not tried 2 skip screens if not present one after the other, so I'm unsure.  You can open a ticket with support if you need help with the inconsistent results.

For sales orders - create or update - because of the myriad of pop-ups, I either use BATCH recording mode or a BAPI (via Direct) to create sales orders.  The latter only works if you don't have custom fields in the sales order.  I am happy to provide an example of the BAPI if you're interested.

    Best Regards,
    Sigrid
