Hi Vanessa,
You can only nest Active Directory security groups into SharePoint groups, so bear that in mind when designing security. Normally, SharePoint itself will only show the direct members of the group (X,Y,Z, and the nested groups). Composer seems to behave the same way (not sure if that's the type of the workflow you're working on).
However, in the solution itself if you use a Workflow Participant control set to use a drop down as a system control, it will actually iterate through all nested groups and break them out into individuals. Likewise for using the SharePoint Users control to populate a repeating table on the form.

Subject: Central - Creating a group within a group
Hi All,
I am setting up custom groups in Central for a workflow that is being developed. A couple of the groups contain other existing groups within them. I am unable to find any information as to if this is possible or if my only option is to list all of the individuals from each group. Has anyone else come across this scenario? If so, how did you work through it?
One of my groups contains 4 additional groups so if I can avoid adding each individual that would be amazing.
Example: Group B consists of Users X, Y, Z, Group A, Group L & Group M etc.
Thank you!
