Is there a way to send notifications in composer to a swim lane and also the originator in the same email.
I want the originator to be able to see that the email was sent, and see who it was sent to.

I believe the only way you can do this is with a Send Email Plug-In.   If I remember right, you would see the other "To" people in the email.   Someone else please correct me if I am wrong.

The downfall to this is maintaining the people.  Plug-Ins are not as dynamic as you have to revise the solution to update, unlike swimlane/SharePoint groups.  Also, you need to consider if you want those getting the email to be able to reply to all and take communications, and the work, around the purpose of the workflow.

Thanks - that is what I thought, but I was hoping maybe there was a trick I was missing. 
Maybe they will consider having the option to at least add the originator to these notifications in future versions. 

Good point about the reply all, but in this case I want them to be able to utilize reply all if needed since the workflow ends when this communication goes out.  ​

Scott is correct, the only way to send the same email to multiple disparate users is via the Send Email plugin. You can make this plugin dynamic by capturing the emails to fields on the form and setting the "To" parameter of the send email plugin to use these fields. However, bear in mind that Send Email plugins only allow plain text and so have limited formatting capability, but they are also the only way to send emails outside the organization.

If the originator and the other CC are both in swim lanes, you can use two notification nodes with exact body and message parameters to get the same effect.
