  • 1.  Recording a script through FireFighter ID

    Posted 03-01-2019 10:50
    Greetings All,

I have been asked to update some Withholding Tax codes using FD02.  I don't have access to the t-code so I have to use firecall (FireFighter ID or elevated access).  I start our my recording with the t-code for firefighter.  When SAP opens up to the firefighter screen, I only get half of the screen.  I can not select an available ID.  Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thank You
    Michael

In Options under SAP Settings there is a checkbox for "Allow runs using Virsa or Firefighter or GRC".  Try checking that.

Thank you James for the response!

I have that option ticked as the instructions highlighted.  It works just fine for getting into the fire call screen.  The issue is the screen does not display  all of the columns like it would if I went into it normally.

Here is what it looks like when I go into the firefighter screen without WinShuttle:
    Firecall without WS
Here is what I get when I execute the same t code through WinShuttle:
Firecall with WSNotice no scroll bar and tabbing does not move column to column.  Just wondering if others have had the same issue and if they have, how did they deal with it.

    Thanks again!

You could try recording in one of the other modes

Hi Micheal, I just finished a training document in using Winshuttle with a Firefighter id..   See attached.
Winshuttle does have some instructions but some key points are missing, So I made my own

    Hello Michael,

Is your SAP GUI a supported version and patch according to the below article link?
Which SAP GUI versions are supported by Winshuttle?

If so, try enabling the "Allow Multi threaded SAP GUI" option within the Studio options - Save - then try again and see if this helps.

    Thank you!

Thank You everyone for your suggestions.  I am new to WinShuttle so I'm feeling a bit slow here.  I have gotten to a point where I can record my script (using GUI Scripting) and when I run it, it updates my first record no problem, but then runs through the script where the first screen works fine, but the next screen (where the maintenance takes place) no data is transferred to the screen from my Excel, and it moves on to the next record but doesn't change it until I run out of customers.  Any thoughts?

    I have attached my script

    Thanks!

    Michael

Thank You Shelby,   I am doing this in Transaction 10.7.3  I was able to use your document and kind of translated to my version.  It was very helpful.  Thank You!
