Hi Stephen
Would you consider using a BAPI? You still may need some IF statements, depending on the variations of what you're trying to load, but you won't have to worry about screen names.
BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST is a standard SAP BAPI that runs in both ECC and S/4Hana. It is a bit more "geeky" to design, but it works well and is faster than a transaction recording.
Also, v12 processes the scripts more quickly, including handling lots of IF statements more efficiently, if you haven't upgraded yet.

Subject: Finance Journals - F-02
How is everyone tackling finance Journal posting?
The problem with F-02 is that it has SO MANY screens and fields, mostly dependent on the Field Status Group of the account - so I've ended up with 2 chained transactions (1 - get all account field status groups, 2 - post journal using those FSGs) - the post journal script is a large set of IF statements :
IF FSG="xxxx" then
line item
amount
etc
END IF
IF FSG="yyyy" then
line item
amount
profit center
etc
END IF
etc
I've reached about 450 lines in total for this script, and am now getting out of memory errors when running in large journals (~900 lines) due to our 32 bit excel installations.
There must be a better way!! Anyone?!
