  • 1.  Script for Customer Classification Data

    Hello!
    I work for Northern Safety Company here in Central NY and we've used Winshuttle for about 3 years now and our users love it.
    We are in the process of sunsetting our CRM system; so we have some Marketing Attribute data that we want to house in Customer Classification Data.  Does anyone have an UPDATE script for Customer Classification Data that they would be willing to share?

    I use the attached script based on BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE to create new classifications in our new customer form. There is also BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE that can be used to update existing characteristics.

    Hi Sue - Sue Jarvis sharing a BAPI is definitely a great way to go.    A BAPI will let you specific characteristic field names, which are always unique.

    You can also use transaction scripts.  However, you will need to ensure when you loop through searching for characteristic descriptions (you can't use the field name), that you don't get more than one match.  Example at one customer had Store as Store id.  But they also had Store Manager, etc, so searching on Store brought up several to choose. from.

    The attached examples include a script to add a class and populate values.  Another example simply updates characteristic values.  It leverages the binoculars to search for characteristics.

    I haven't used the BAPI way for this but we have updated records for the classification tab (xd02/customer) using the attached script.
    • Company code, Sales org, Distribution channel and division are set to blank
    • Required Fields: Customer account number and Class number.
    • All remaining items are variables, as they might not need to be updated.
