Sue,
I have done many auto testing using linked scripts. This was done by the business process.
Master Data
Material Master Creation
Vendor Master / Business Partner
Purchasing info record.
Supply Chain
Purchase Order
Reception
Warehouse Put away
Stock status change.
Vendor Invoice
Customer fulfillment
Sales Order
Delivery
Remove Delivery Block
Transfer Order (create & confirm)
Pack and Goods Issue
Invoicing
This takes some time to do (scripts and data sheets), but worth it.
Important to do all scripts individually and then link 2, test, link 3 and test, and so on
Recommend not to link all script on the first try.
Also, you may be required to some formulas in the Excel to get the output of documents required for the next steps. That said, the great thing about Winshuttle that I love is, it is able to read the data in a field where a formula is unlike other applications.
You may have to put waits in between 2 scripts.
There is a business case I believe for the city of Mississauga about using Winshuttle for test automation. Ask your sale rep for it. I think this was done around 2012. It was presented at the Toronto WUG (just do not remember when)
