    What changed
Starting in MIMIX 10.0.19, the Data Protection Report (DPR) is now available directly from a 5250 emulator using the WRKDPR command. This is something I had been waiting for since it removes the dependency on the GUI for this task.

    Why this matters
Being able to run DPR from a 5250 session makes it much easier to work through protection reviews during normal administrative workflows. I spend a lot of time in green screen sessions, so having this there just feels more natural and faster.

What you can do with WRKDPR
From what I've been using so far, the report lets you:

    • Review libraries, folders, and directories and see whether they are protected, partially protected, or not protected
    • Identify gaps in your configuration more quickly
    • Add objects directly into existing or new data groups as needed
    • Generate printed reports for review or documentation

    How I'm using it
I've found this especially useful when cleaning up or validating configurations. It shortens the cycle of identifying unprotected objects and getting them into the right data group. Instead of jumping between interfaces, I can stay in 5250 and move through everything in one pass.

It's also helpful for periodic audits. Running the report, reviewing changes, and documenting the results is a lot more streamlined now.

Have you started using WRKDPR in 5250 yet, or are you still relying on the GUI for DPR work?
