Vietnam Administrative & Postal Code Alignment – Support Announcement

Dear Precisely Customer:
We are writing to inform you of an upcoming update to our Vietnam address data that aligns with recent national administrative and postal code changes.
Vietnam has recently implemented significant updates to its administrative boundaries, city names, regions, and postal codes. To ensure continued accuracy and to minimize disruption, we are introducing an updated dataset while providing a transition period for existing integrations.
What is changing
- Vietnam administrative boundaries and postal codes have been rebuilt and aligned to newly published national standards
- Several regions and cities have been renamed, merged, or restructured
- Legacy province-level identifiers used in older address formats may no longer exist in the new standard
What we are delivering
In an upcoming release, we will provide two Vietnam datasets to support both existing implementations and adoption of Vietnam's updated national standards:
- Legacy Dataset (Current Structure)
- Supports existing address formats and historical region/postal codes
- Intended to maintain backward compatibility during transition
- New National Code Dataset (Updated Structure)
- Reflects the latest Vietnam administrative boundaries, city names, and postal codes
- Recommended for customers adopting or already using the new national standards
What you should do
- Review whether your systems are using legacy or new Vietnam address formats
- Plan to migrate to the new dataset if you are adopting updated postal or administrative codes
- Coordinate with your internal teams to test against the new dataset prior to full adoption
Transition guidance
We recommend using the legacy dataset only as a temporary measure. Future enhancements and improvements will focus on the new national code dataset as Vietnam continues to evolve its administrative standards.
