Enforcive End of Support for IBM i V7R3
Introduction
IBM i V7R3 (7.3) was released on April 15, 2016, and reached its general end-of-support (EOS) on September 30, 2023, making it an unsupported version without a Service Extension. Users are advised to upgrade to IBM i 7.4, 7.5, or 7.6 for continued support, security patches, and compatibility.
IBM i V7R3 Support Withdrawal and Upgrade Considerations
IBM has officially withdrawn support for the IBM i 7.3 operating system, as indicated on the Release life cycle page. In alignment with this change, the upcoming release of Enforcive Enterprise Security 8.4.09, which is currently scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, will include a safeguard during the upgrade process. Specifically, the installer will prevent the upgrade procedure from working on a V7R3 operating system. The upgrade will be paused to prevent potential compatibility issues.
