Hello!

I've received questions from my colleagues in regards to a more advanced search functionality..

We are transitioning from the old SharePoint winshuttle to the new Evolve platform and many of us find that the Search functionality has been greatly reduced. 

I know that the search in SharePoint was a functionality of the SharePoint sites and not of Winshuttle, but is there any equivalent that we can use in Evolve? 

Example: I have some foms called Misc forms. In them, people attach files for mass updates for customers, materials or vendors. In the old Sharepoint, we could search for a Material number in the Search box and it would bring up all the forms that number was part of, even if the number was part of an attached excel file.. 

Is there any chance there's a way to do this in Evolve? Is there any talk about this function making its' way into future versions?

As of now there is no way to apply global search in current released version of evolve.

we did some R&D on the global search that you mentioned, it is not part for the current release plan.

You can add this to idea portal to add a vote to the request that this is something which will be helpful from user perspective.

You can add this to idea portal to add a vote to the request that this is something which will be helpful from user perspective.

Hi Florin,

In current version we do support search functionality outside the filter menu on each column.

Refer screenshot :

In the textbox highlighted above, you can enter the text and filter records based on column values instead of going to filter menu and then applying the filters.

Yes, I am running the current version and we make use of these fields, but they don't search the data in the attachments, sadly. 

To better explain my needs, I am going to show an example from the old Winshuttle: 

I have a form which has this attachment:. I will take this number from the excel file:

If I put this number in the Search Box: 

I will get a list of all the forms in which this number is mentioned, even though it is only in a file.

As you can see, the first CIMR-Misc in the list is the one that I've taken the number from. This number is only mentioned in the form and not in any promoted/solution fields.
