  • 1.  Schedule a chained script

    Posted 11-08-2023 10:23

    Hello everyone,

I try to schedule a chained script without success.

I have tried to use the schedule function on BAPI, simple script and it's working but every time I schedule a chain script I get an error in the process history :

"Error occurred while executing request in worker.Sap logon details provided are incomplete/incorrect."

And the status is blocked on : "Data Posting Running"

Is the schedule function working also for chained script ? Does it need a specific setting ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

    Paul

    Hi Paul

Can you please share if you're doing desktop scheduling or have one of our server-based products, such as Foundation or Evolve?  Also where & how you're trying to schedule it?

I have an example here on Evolve, using the Excel add-in for a chained set of scripts, which is all that is in the Excel file:

I can choose to schedule on Server and have it run right away or at a specific time.

When the Server's time comes to run it, it will look for stored credentials on Evolve for the SAP system you have selected to run it on.  Those need to be current & correct.

If your scenario is different, please share the details, but I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Sigrid

    Hi Sigrid,

We use Evolve and I want to schedule on Server (the function Schedule Local doesn't work...).

I want to schedule a chain with 4 transaction script and 2 BAPI using 5 sheets in the same Excel file.

I have completed my SAP credential on Evolve and I have no issue when scheduling a single script (BAPI or transaction).

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Paul

    Thanks for confirming it's Evolve.

In order to schedule a Chain - it must be just the chain published in the workbook.  Is that the case?  In the screen shot I shared prior, that was the case with my workbook.   Nothing but the chain is published - please see my example below:

And I'm assuming that you are picking the same SAP system that worked with a single script?  Just want to double check the variables.

If the above is all true for you and it still doesn't work, I'd suggest that you open a support ticket.  They may be able to identify what the cause may be.

    Best Regards,

    Sigrid

    Hi Sigrid,

In my previous test I also had a query published on my template.

I have made other test but this time with only the chained script and I have the same error.

I will open a support ticket.

    Thanks for your help.
