Hi Ann
IDK where SAP has OData APIs published for PLM. I did some searches and didn't find anything, but it wasn't exhaustive.
I think you will likely be stuck with tcodes and BAPIs/rFMs with PLM, but I'm not certain.
Maybe your Basis team can help?
Note I don't have a PLM system to try anything, so I'm not much help with use cases in this area.
Best Regards,
Sigrid

Thanks for the information. I did run across your video regarding APIs (https://youtu.be/-jTIgLQvSbE?si=xBHBYOSg_7QDbSqF) and was hoping that would open up some possibilities. So far I am not finding what appears to be a PLM API on SAP's website.

Hi Ann
In general we are certified to work with SAP ERP. People have used Studio with other parts of SAP like CRM, SCM and APO, but it may require GUI scripting or looking for BAPIs and using Direct, simply because the transactions were built quite differently than ERP.
For example, I've had some experience with CRM and a tiny bit of APO. If regular recording modes don't work, I can sometimes use BATCH mode, but sometimes GUI scripting - but I'd prefer a BAPI if there is one. But there are some tcodes that just aren't automation ready in any recording mode.
Some companies have setup automatic synchronization between ERP and the non-ERP modules, and if that works from ERP to PLM, that could be another way to do it.
Also once we have Fiori automation in GA, I know that SAP has some parts of the non-ERP functionality exposed as Fiori apps, so that may be another method to tackle some of the automation requirements.
I hope that helps.
Best Regards,
Sigrid

I am looking to use Evolve with Studio to create a Workflow and Script to manage PLM changes. I am not seeing anything in the SAP Module Templates and I have run across a couple Automate discussion threads stating that it can't be used with PLM but they are threads from about 5 years ago.
Is it still a correct statement that Evolve/Studion can't be utilized for PLM?
