    Dear All,

    I want to convert existing tables and views in the MapInfo (SQL Server) database from GDA94 to GDA2020. What would be the best approach?

    I was thinking of the following method but its time consuming:

    1. Download all tables from the database
    2. Save them one by one with the new projection or use FME
    3. Then use EasyLoader to replace the existing database Tables

    Is there any other way to reproject the data in the MapInfo database itself without going through the above process?

    Hi Dhan,

    You shouldn't need to download then upload.  If your version of FME does not support the SQL Serve spatial writer you could use Open Source software ogr2ogr, which is what we have used for some of our clients.  After the transformation you might also need to update the MapInfo_MapCatalog table in SQL Server.  If you need any help get in touch!
