    David,

For our site, we appear to use columns 7-10 on the POSTRC parameter to tell Mailstream where to find or put the Rate Classification information in the Name/Address file.  From reading the attached document it appears the data within that location is going from 13 bytes to 8 bytes, but I'm assuming that will be controlled by the Mailstream software correct?  For this case, does this version impact us as far as coding where to find the information? Has that change already been in place with previous versions?  One more question : For the ENT PT changes with removing column 58...is the data to the right have to be moved left 1 character?

    Sincerely,

    Derek W. Pollard(derek.pollard@omf.com)

One more question : For the ENT PT changes with removing column 58...is the data to the right have to be moved left 1 character? No, I think the devs typically make removed parameters into reserved spaces so things don't get moved out of place.

    One more question:

In the "Other Changes" section of the above document --- there is a statement that says "Support for 1st Class Letters and Card in the same presort."  We currently do them seperately....how would this be accomplished?

I expect that would mean additional parameters/options will be added to accomplish this. I don't currently have more specifics, you'll have to wait for the Release Notes for more details.

In a Pitney Bowes webinar it was mentioned about a USPS 7/12/2026 First class increase of 5.1% and Marketing Mail of 5.4%.  Will this new version be needed to handle this?  Our group sends only first class letters and postcards through Mailstream Plus currently.

    Hello Derek,

You mentioned that your group handles first class letters and postcards the USPS rate change in July 2026 will cover in the USPS postal changes that include rates and regulation changes. It is recommended that all clients that use the MSP application install the new MSPv 2026.6 software application for the USPS July rate change/increase.

Please review the Knowledge Base article mentioned below for product announcements:

Is there a set deadline date when the update has to be installed and, is there any update on when the update will be out? We are running MaiiStream Plus on IBMi.

    Hi Nigel,

All mailings going to the USPS July 12, 2026 or later should be using the upcoming MailStream Plus version 2026.6 with the June postal Reference files for this version.

The software is in its final testing stages. We are aiming to release it next week, the week of June 12, 2026. All documentation will be made available at the same time.

    Thanks,

Back in December when Mailstream Plus v2025.12 first released, I was advised with the following:

"Mailstream Plus v2025.12 need to be installed with the Dec. 2025.12 MSP 2025.12 postal reference files...Additional note is the ver 2025.12 is for mailings sent to the USPS Jan. 18, 2026 or later. Before that, continue to use ver 2025.6"

Does 2026.6 follow this same requirement? I.e. will updating MSP to 2026.6 and the USPS reference file to 2026.6 now, before July 12, cause issues? Do we need to continue using 2025.12 until July 12?

    Hi Nick,

Please find the MSP 2026.6 Release notes here:

    https://support.precisely.com/products/mailstream-plus/

MSP 2026.6 should only be used for Mailings entered at the USPS July 12, 2026 or later. There are rate changes and many rule changes that are only in the new software.

Continue to use MSP 2025.12 for mailings entering the USPS before July 12, 2026.

So yes, the new version follows the same rules of when to use the current and when to move to the new software.

The USPS Reference files are version specific. The software will throw an error if the software version and the USPS Reference files do not match.

The software is available to download now. It was made available today.

    Thanks,

    Good morning,

Is the Mailstream Plus 2026.6 release backward compatible for the IBM1 installation? If not, when is the earliest it can be installed?

    Hello Nigel,

We believe you are asking whether you can continue using MailStream Plus 2025.12 after installing version 2026.6 in your IBM i production environment.

The answer is no. Once version 2026.6 is installed in the production environment, all presorting will use the new USPS rates and regulations.

The new USPS rates and regulations become effective on July 12, with implementation beginning during the July 13 work week.

Please also note that a C01 patch will be required following the initial installation of MailStream Plus v2026.6.

    Thank you,

    Edward
