MapInfo Pro

Hi

We have software that has a dependency on MapInfo Pro 2019, which had to be reinstalled on a rebuilt laptop, but will not Activate "Unable to Reach the Server"

It is trying to initially reach http://license.mapinfo.com/flexnet/services/ActivationService?wsdl

MapInfo Pro 2021 Activates ok which uses https. Has http://license.mapinfo access been switched off ?

Is the only way to activate 2019 is using email?

Back in April 2024, we upgraded our central FNO license server. This gives us more capabilities but also means that we no longer support connecting to it using an insecure connection through HTTP. We now only support secure HTTPS connections.

The later versions of MapInfo Pro have already switched to the secure connection - this began with MapInfo Pro v2019.3 Build 49.

You can manually set up the older versions to use the secure connection, read more in this support article.

Alternatively, you can use activation via email.

The update from Peter indicates that all 2021 versions would be able to activate automatically. But this is not the case:

The server change has happened as 2021.1 build 25 was the current release. For backwards compatibility the 2019.3 build 49 was created to enable 2019 customer to transfer and activate automatically.

 

For MapInfo Pro 2021 the 2021.1 build 33 has been published as the first release communication via HTTPS. All newer releases also use the HTTPS protocol for licensing communication.
