  • 1.  MapInfo - Printer Driver File Not Found

    Hi all,

    I am using MapInfo Pro v2021 64 bit. However I have run into an issue when trying to Print as PDF, the Printer symbol has greyed out so when you click on it it comes up with an error box -
    Therefore how can I get it back working? It was working fine last week which is strange.. I have just checked the My computer - Devices and Printers and the 'MapInfo Printer Version 2021' is still currently installed so therefore what do we need to do to get it back working??

    Richard,

    Can you check the printer preferences within MapInfo Pro? Please make sure that you haven't selected a non-existing printer as the default printer. Try to change it to the Windows default printer.

    Hi Peter, thanks for your reply - I just tried it on the main MapInfo Options but it won't let me click on the printer icon - it comes up with that same box:

    Therefore is there another area where I can check on MapInfo?

    Hi

    Try this:
    1. Shut down MapInfo Pro
    2. Select a different Default Windows Printer through Printer & Scanners
    3. Restart MapInfo Pro and see if this has fixed the issue

    Hi Peter, yes thanks, the reason as to why was because of an IT update that was needed at work to do with the printer drivers so was not an issue with MapInfo as such.

    I know that restarting the PC fixes this, but it kept occurring for me.
    What did fix it properly for me was setting the default printer in Windows settings instead of allowing Windows to manage it.
    Maybe this will help others too.
